FAQ — Mango Meals

Question 1

What is Mango Meals?

Accepted Answer

We are a specialised local kitchen based in Somerset West, providing fresh daily school Lunchboxes, Aftercare Catering, and small-batch frozen Family Meals and Babies & Toddlers purees. We bridge the gap between convenience and nutrition—no shortcuts, no nasties.

Question 2

Where do you deliver?

Accepted Answer

We deliver across Somerset West, the Cape Winelands, and surrounding Cape Town metropolitan areas.

Question 3

What does your "No Nasties" philosophy mean?

Accepted Answer

Every meal is completely free from added MSG, artificial fillers, chemical preservatives, and refined sugars. We cook from scratch using fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced from local butchers, bakers, and grocers in the Helderberg basin.

Question 4

How do I place an order for frozen meals or baby purees?

Accepted Answer

Browse our online ranges—such as Family Meals or Babies & Toddlers—select your items, choose your portions, and click [Add to order] to build your cart. Proceed through our secure online checkout to complete your purchase.

Question 5

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Once your order has been received, an invoice will be sent to you for payment via EFT.

Question 6

How long does delivery take, and is there a minimum order?

Accepted Answer

Orders exceeding R600 automatically qualify for free delivery across our Somerset West and Winelands routes. We aim to fulfill orders within 3 business days. You can also opt for free collection by prior arrangement at our Somerset West kitchen.

Question 7

Are your meals free from preservatives and additives?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All Mango Meals products are made without preservatives, artificial colourants, or additives. We use real, whole ingredients in every batch.

Question 8

How do you handle allergens?

Accepted Answer

We are an allergen-aware kitchen with strict cross-contamination protocols in place. However, because allergens are handled in our kitchen, we cannot guarantee that any meal is completely free from traces. You can review the ingredients and allergen notes on each product card.

Question 9

What is the Mango Meals lunchbox service?

Accepted Answer

Our lunchbox service provides fresh, nutritionally balanced morning break meals delivered directly to your child’s campus before the first break.

Designed specifically for toddlers and pre-schoolers aged 3 to 6, every box takes the daily stress out of morning packing so you only have to worry about the water bottle.

Question 10

How does the lunchbox system work?

Accepted Answer

Each lunchbox is built around four carefully portioned compartments to ensure steady energy and focus through the morning:
Core Energy │ Fruit │ Dairy │ Crunch

Our menu operates on a rolling 3-week rotation (which you can preview on our Lunchboxes page), ensuring variety and balanced nutrition without repetition.

Question 11

My school is already on your delivery route. How do I sign up my child?

Accepted Answer

If your school already receives our daily morning deliveries, signing up is quick and seamless!
Step 1:

Step 2:
Provide your child's full name, age/grade, and campus details in your message.

Step 3:
Our team will verify your school's active route schedule, confirm classroom drop-off logistics with you, and set up your recurring subscription so your child's fresh lunchbox arrives on time every morning.

Question 12

What if my child's school is not yet on your route?

Accepted Answer

If your campus isn't currently listed, you can submit a school nomination via our Contact Us page or click Nominate My School on our Lunchboxes page. Once we reach a viable cluster of orders in your area, we expand our morning delivery routes to include new campuses.

Question 13
